Creative Scene Inc. is participating in this year’s One Spark Festival APRIL 7-12, 2015 IN JACKSONVILLE, FL! One Spark is the World’s Largest Crowdfunding Festival, where makers connect with resources and turn dreams into reality. We are creators because we are creating jobs for creatives and art lovers.

Here is an overview of our project. Please check out our project page and vote for our project. We are seeking funds for our marketing budget and video production to build our video tutorial library.

Describe your business:

Creative Scene Inc. is an arts & crafts event company currently operating in the New York City area and in North East Florida. Founded by two female professional designers, our mission is to empower creative people and help spread the joy of art to the masses.

Creative Scene licenses Event Planners that hire Artistic Entertainers (art teachers) and Assistants (art lovers) to work the creative events. The arts events are held in restaurants, bars, churches and community centers. In two hours, our Artistic Entertainers guide people as they make paintings and craft projects. Our events are perfect for date night, fundraisers and private parties. No artistic talent is needed; the projects are geared toward non-artist. We provide all the supplies and clean up the mess.

Studies have shown the therapeutic benefits of doing creative projects. Our business model is a win-win for all involved. Venues get more footfalls on slow nights; attendees add two hours of creative time to their day and leave with their creations, Artistic Entertainers earn money and can promote their artwork, Assistants earn money and can network. The local economy is stimulated.

Tell us about your team and your goals for this project (outside of One Spark)

Founders Masa Kitani and Brenda Kato are both professional designers. Masa’s background is in fashion design and Brenda’s background is in digital design and marketing. Together they share a passion for art and are determined to develop a business that will empower creative people and spread the joy of art to the masses. As a start up, our goals are to increase brand awareness, drive ticket sales to our art events and produce video tutorials for our project library. We need to recruit artistic entertainers, event planners, venues and assistants.

How are we different?

We are different from other drink and paint companies because we offer a variety of crafts and mixed media projects for all ages, children and seniors. We are flexible and will work with the venues or fundraisers to develop custom projects. We also plan to develop a video library of creative project tutorials. Creative Scene is founded by artist to create jobs for people, not by businessmen seeking profits for shareholders. Our success is measured by how many jobs are created and how much joy of art is spread to the community.

Why are you and your team the best people on the planet to handle this project?

Experience and passion align to forge a great team. Brenda Kato has a degree from Ringling School of Art and Design and has an extensive background in digital design, marketing and visual arts. Masa Kitani went to Harper College for her Associate Fashion, Art and Certificate in Floral Design.  Then she went to FIT for her BS in Textile technology and has an impressive background in the fashion design industry with a focus on costumes. Together they share a passion for art and are determined to develop a business that will empower creative people and help spread the joy of art to the masses.
